Our heavy duty waterproof HDPE material is an ideal solution for limiting subterranean water movement against foundation and retaining walls. The HDPE sheet material is typically installed outside, adjacent to the wall, and acts as a reliable moisture barrier for basements and crawl spaces.

To adhere the HDPE water barrier membrane to a foundation wall consider utilizing the HDPE Vertical Lock Adhesive or alternatively the self-adhering SubSeal Water Barrier product line.

Installation
- Dig a trench a few inches back from the wall where you plan to install the barrier. The trench should be 2" less deep than the depth of the barrier that is to be installed. For example if you are installing a 36" barrier, dig a 34" trench.
- Place the barrier in the trench. If connecting two segments be sure to overlap them by 2 feet, using sealant tape vertically and horizontally to connect the seam. The taped overlap will prevent the ground water from flowing through the joint.
Other Applications
HDPE water barrier can also be used as a root guard for trees, bamboo and weeds. When used as a root guard, the HDPE sheet effectively prevents the plant's root from spreading throughout the landscape.
