Japanese Knotweed Root Barrier
CuTex is a high-performance, permeable root barrier that pairs physical strength with chemical deterrence to stop Japanese Knotweed, bamboo, and other aggressive invasive species.
Its unique construction sandwiches a micro-perforated copper foil layer between two geotextile fabrics for a dual-action defense. The copper layer emits Cu²⁺ ions that create a localized zone deterring root growth, while the geotextile layers add structural strength and flexibility. Because the barrier is permeable, water and nutrients still pass through — preventing waterlogging and keeping surrounding soil healthy.
With a service life exceeding 50 years and minimal copper release, CuTex protects utilities, foundations, and hardscapes from root damage in residential, commercial, and public landscapes — without posing significant risk to groundwater or surrounding ecosystems.
